Mulan's ancestors has given Disney their blessings to make a live action movie! Indeed, this is not the first adaptation of the classic heroine, which originated from an Ancient Chinese poem, titled the Ballad of Mulan. Her legendary story has been cultivated into various media platforms, ranging from stage plays, films, TV shows, to literature. Conversely, this will be America’s first variation of Mulan into a live action film for the silver screen.

Trying to figure who’s who in Japanese band, EXILE can be majorly confusing.  It took me weeks to figure that, and I’m still learning their names and faces. However, that would’ve that not happen if it wasn’t for looking up EXILE band history.  

Kpop Real Talk: Music Videos

Things have already begun to heat up in the world of K-pop for 2014, with the return of two amazing legends, DBSK and Rain, along with Girl’s Day. However, there are several conversational topics that continue to surface up particular dealing with music videos.  Here is the list of topics: race, culture appropriation, misrepresentation, and sexualization. From my observation these topics will to continue to be a roller coaster ride dividing Kpop fans and non-Kpop fans. A majority of those topics, we deal with on a daily basis, and can be use to analyze various types of media, regardless of what background we come from.

The calendar has caught my attention that the year of 2013 is rapidly coming to an end. Which gave me the idea (more of a challenge) to come up with a master list of memorable Kpop songs for this year, then chop it down to the top ten. This month is infamous for a certain holiday. It's not a national holiday because you may recall going to school on that day. In, the United States, Halloween is celebrated every year with various activities. Halloween is popularly known from our (American) prospective, but not every country celebrates this holiday. In modern times, other countries are becoming more open to the idea of celebrating Halloween. Let's talk about love!

Today's Kpop Lingo of the day actually comes from the Korean language.

Why wait till Valentine's Day to talk about love! Sarang in Korean means love. You may have also seen/or heard this phrase "saranghae" (I love you) in K-dramas, song lyrics, and etc. There are several different ways to use sarang depending on who (formal or informal) or the context.

My understanding of a bias ruin(er) is a low ranking bias (Kpop idol) who works its way up the bias list system to ruin whomever you have ranking first already or can ruin your ultimate bias. Whether it be in visual looks, dancing, singing or etc.

A word for an idol who debuted under 18.

 

Many fan girls/fan boys also fantasize about "naughty" things towards the younger K-pop idols, but know this is an illegal thing to do in reality and will be sent to jail.
