I sincerely apologize for not dedicating some of my time
towards writing posts and sharing throwback J-pop music videos on Saturdays. On my last post about “Buying Complicated
Asian Albums” I stated that part two would be about packaging and the bias
system, but I’m going to do a switch-a-roo, and talk about repackaging albums.
Therefore, part 3 will be about packing and the bias system.
The reason for the switch of topic is because several
popular K-pop bands that have made a comeback for the summer have also decided
to put out a repackage album. What is a repackage album? A repackage album is an
album that has been re-scrapped into a different concept, or opposite of the original
album that was released the first time. Meaning you have purchase the same album, but
it will possibly have 2-3 new songs. The purposes of a repackage album are to
resale the “same” album and make more profit.
I guarantee you that a selection of K-pop fans have bought the original
release album, and are willing to buy the repackage album. Once again, this is
another trick or marketing tool to get K-pop fans to spend “more” money on
their products. Fans are at fault too. Is it necessary to buy “both” albums?
Think about it?
